You looked into the research. So did we. Here is the study that started it all, and why over 152,359 people chose our shampoo because of it.
In 2015, Panahi et al. published a randomized comparative trial in the peer-reviewed journal SKINmed. 100 people with androgenetic alopecia (genetic pattern hair loss) were split into two groups: half applied pure rosemary essential oil to their scalp twice daily, and half applied minoxidil 2%. Both groups used their treatment consistently for six months.
The result: both groups showed a significant increase in hair count at 6 months. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups. The rosemary group also reported less scalp itching than the minoxidil group.
That is the finding behind every “rosemary vs minoxidil” headline you have seen. A natural essential oil, applied consistently, matched the performance of a well-known hair loss treatment, with fewer side effects. It is one study, not a miracle. But it is a real result from real research.
The study did not stop there. Researchers believe rosemary’s active compounds, rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid, support scalp health through antioxidant activity. Animal studies and in vitro research have supported these mechanisms. It is still early, but the direction of the evidence is clear: rosemary is worth paying attention to.
This was one study with 100 participants. It tested pure rosemary essential oil, not shampoo or extract. The comparison was to minoxidil 2% (not the stronger 5% version). And the participants had androgenetic alopecia specifically. Results may differ for other types of hair loss. We sell rosemary products, so we are upfront about these limits. The study used rosemary oil. Our shampoo uses real rosemary botanical extract: the same active compounds, in a sulfate-free formula you use in the shower. No synthetic fragrance. The real ingredient.
One peer-reviewed study is where this started. 152,359+ real customers are where it continued. No clinical trial has tested our specific shampoo. But the research gave us a reason to build it, and the people who use it every day give us a reason to keep making it.
Their honest experiences are not clinical proof. They are something better: real feedback you can actually read, from people like you.

Rosemary isn't just a kitchen herb. It contains compounds like rosmarinic acid and carnosic acid that have been studied for their potential scalp health benefits. A randomized trial published in SKINmed (Panahi et al., 2015) studied rosemary alongside minoxidil 2% over six months, and the rosemary group also reported significantly less scalp itching. Our shampoo uses real rosemary botanical extract, not a drop of perfume.
If your hair feels dry and straw-like after washing, that's probably sulfates doing the damage. Our cleanser is sodium cocoyl isethionate, derived from coconut, one of the gentlest surfactants available. It removes dirt and buildup without stripping your scalp's natural oils. The trade-off is less foam. Less foam doesn't mean less clean.
An uncomfortable scalp makes everything worse. Itching, flaking, tightness. Rosemary is known for its natural antioxidant properties (Nieto, Ros & Castillo, 2023, Antioxidants), and the castor oil in our formula contains ricinoleic acid, known for its conditioning and moisturizing properties. Together they support a scalp that feels calmer and more comfortable after every wash.
Most shampoos strip everything and leave conditioning to another product. Ours includes maracuja oil, naturally rich in linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid that helps keep hair feeling soft and conditioned. Your hair comes out feeling smoother, not just squeaky. You can run your fingers through it right after rinsing.

Real ingredients you can read. No synthetic fragrances.
Give it a good shake before each use. The natural formula can settle between washes, so this keeps the consistency right.
Use a quarter-sized amount on wet hair. Work it into your scalp with your fingertips, focusing on the roots and scalp.
Work the shampoo in for about a minute using circular motions. You'll notice a fresh rosemary scent. That's real rosemary, not fragrance.
Rinse completely with warm water. Follow with conditioner for best results, especially if you have dry or fine hair.
* Always patch test first. Avoid contact with eyes. If irritation occurs, stop use.
